There are lots of "behind the scenes" photographs taken in the Yorkshire TV studios - on page 6
These photos were all taken in 2007.
Heartbeat series 16 ended with episode 324, "Laying the Ghost" in which PC Rob Walker left Aidensfield to take up his promotion to Sergeant in York . It was shown in the UK on 5th August, 2007.Filming of series 17 began in May, with the first appearance of the new constable, PC Joe Mason, played by Joe McFadden which was shown in November, in "Stop Gap". This was also the year that Phil Bellamy was shot (see below),
in an episode called "Touch and Go". In this episode, Rupert Ward-Lewis makes his first appearance as PC Don Wetherby.
There have been a lot of celebrity guest stars in episodes of Heartbeat, some of which can befound on page 1
The Big Wedding
After almost 15 years of an on-off relationship, Gina Ward and Phil Bellamy finally got married. The wedding was filmed
on 24th January 2007, and the episode (The Dreams that you Dream) was screened on the 24th June2007. The couple
were engaged a few years ago, but split up after losing their baby.
All the wedding photographs shown here are with the kind permission of the Dobson Agency.

The Funeral
The big story for series 17, was the sad death of PC Bellamy. Phil Bellamy (Mark Jordon) has been in the series since it began in 1992, and his last appearance was on the 23rd December 2007, when he was tragically shot. These photographs of the funeral were taken on the 31st July 2007, and were screened on British TV on the 30th December in an episode called "Burying the Past". The funeral was held at St. Mary's Church, in Goathland, or St. Mary's Church, Aidensfield as it appears in the programme. This is the same church where he and Gina were married only a few months ago, and the same church yard where their baby is buried.
Although these photos were taken in July, series 17, started in it's usual Sunday night slot, at 8pm on Sunday 11th November 2007.
